Waxed-Canvas

Just as you wouldn't wash a leather product such as shoes, jackets and bags, you won’t be able to wash or dry clean your Martexin Original Wax. Wax fabrics have been successfully used for many years without washing. A periodic cleaning with a hose, damp cloth is all that is needed. Spot clean your bag with mild soap or just cold water if it needs any cleaning. Do not use detergent to wash waxed canvas, as the detergent will break down the wax. Its okay for your bag to get a little dirty, its a sign of a well used bag!

Water-Resistant Canvas

Our water-resistant canvas is cared for the same as our waxed canvas. A periodic cleaning with a hose, damp cloth is all that is needed. Spot clean your bag with mild soap or just cold water if it needs any cleaning. Do not use detergent to wash waxed canvas, as the detergent will break down the wax.

Leather

Mild soap and a damp cloth is recommended for removing most light stains. For upkeep, periodic dusting is recommended for normal maintenance of leather. If your leather has more intense staining, or has become dry, cracked, or heavily worn we recommend Leather CPR cleaner and condition.

*Please note that our vegetable tanned leather can bleed onto lighter colored fabrics, especially if the leather gets wet. Dye transfer from leather is most common with our burgundy tanned leather. A dye sealant is applied to our vegetable tanned straps, although it doesn't guarantee your leather wont bleed.*
